NEW JERSEY - The New Jersey Devils organization has crowned its GM today, hiring Toronto native, Tom Poraszka.
The controversial decision came as a bit of a shocker, when Lou Lamoriello stepped down as GM of the Devils to pursue other options, it was clear, his career as a GM had concluded concurently with the folding of the NHL. With the birth of the Old Time Hockey League, the Devils organization decided to go with someone who upon first glance, would know nothing of "Old Time Hockey".
A Toronto native of Polish descent, Tom Poraszka is a mere 17 years old. With plenty of lessons left to learn, the Devils organization still felt his maturity and 2 years of experience were enough to qualify him as the front runner for the position.
Seen above at left at the Devils press conference, Poraszka was flattered to join the league in it's inaugural season and take over one of the best franchises currently in existence.
"I'm prepared to lead this team to glory. My goals are nothing short of a Stanley Cup, this team has the ability to achieve it, and I feel by combining my love for grit, speed and youth, we can build a dynasty to be feared. Go Devils Go!"
Many in New Jersey have their doubts about this teenager but his poise at the press conference reassured many that this team will continue to be one of the elite in the league.
