Although Carolina werent expected to be very active at the OTHL trade deadline, GM Matt Kaminski had a busy afternoon. "We have decided to go for the playoffs already this year, as we a are only 3 points behind the last postseason spot", explained Kaminski why he has made deals with Florida and Toronto.
The Hurricanes GM lost two important guys but added six players. "Losing Kunitz and Bergfors definitely hurts, but the return for them was satisfying enough to make the deals", added Kaminski.
