The Wild finally have new management. Unfortunately for fans, the decision to hire a new GM has come very late in the free agent game and he's got his hands full. The franchise is a full $17,000,000 under the leagues salary floor.
"I'm trying to hit the ground running in Minnesota to try and get the salary structure changed on this team," said GM Garrett Hansford in his opening media conference.
"I knew the issues with this team when I was hired, but I really feel we've got a bright bright future that was put in motion by the team's previous management. We've got perhaps too much depth when it comes to prospects. We've got to use some of those assets to acquire immediate help."
Hansford is now obviously scrambing to get this team above the league's salary floor. Through various league sources, its rumored the GM has placed a variety of young assets on the market.
