After hours of back and forth debating between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Minnesota Wild, a deal was struck sending highly touted LW Oleg Kvasha to Tampa Bay along with some cash for prospect Enver Lisen, youngster Sean Bergenheim and savvy veteran Rob Zamuner. Rob will be expected to join the main squad on route to Detroit in time for Tuesdays game. Sean will see some seasoning down in Houston, and Enver is a short term project with the highest of expectations.
( GM Edwards )
" With this move we strengthen our farm and youth, and still have a more than capable replacement for the year in Mr. Zamuner. We really had a tough time parting with Oleg but we felt he never lived up to expectations here in Minnesota and perhaps a different system of play is what he needs to shine."
( Coach Jacques Lemaire )
" Rob is a definate plus to this team, as he brings that defensive aspect we thrive on here so much in Minnesota. We wish Oleg well in Tampa but it is time to get back to work and our work ethic is starting to pay off for us during this nice 3 game winning streak we are going thru. We have been on the short end of the stick to many times already this year even though we had worked our tails off, but now the pucks are going in , we are outshooting our opponents while keeping the shots down quite a bit. Any way you slice it, the wins have to start coming. "
The team is much younger now and stronger for the future , but where does the team stand right now ?
Only time will tell, and what will happen next?
