Denis & Dupuis sign on the dotted line

Jordan O'Brien

GM, Detroit Red Wings

It has been officially confirmed today that the Detroit Red Wings organization have signed both forward Pascal Dupuis and newcomer goaltender Marc Denis. Both have been signed to multi-year deals, however financial terms were not released by the team.

"It's great to have Dupuis and Denis signed for long term. Both players have a bright future here in Detroit." stated the Wings GM.

Dupuis struggled last season, finishing with only 9 goals and 11 assists in 81 games played in Detroit, though he wasn't seeing a whole lot of icetime. Right now it looks as though Dupuis could be used on the 3rd line in a checking role, but it's still too early too tell with the whole off-season ahead of us.

Marc Denis had a solid season on a struggling NY Islander team. Denis had 23 wins and 42 losses, with a .902 save % and a 2.80 GAA. Denis is expected to get the #1 spot in goal in Detroit, and will have more support infront of him. Look for him to have a much improved season, though again, anything can happen at this point in time.

Rumors have been spread that negotiations with Center Steven Reinprecht and Winger Peter Sejna have also been initiated, but Detroit management would not comment on the issue.
