Brodeur slam dunks the Sabres

Dylan McLaughlin

GM, New Jersey Devils

Game 3 between the Devils and Sabres went Sunday night in downtown Buffalo. Sabre netminder J.S. Giguere put on a show, especially in the 2nd period when his team was outshot 14 to 3. Scott Gomez was the only Devil to get one past him and it proved to be the winner.

The win was a whole team effort for the Devils. They limited the home side to 8 shots through the first two periods and silenced the crowd with a bunch of scoring chances of their own.

In the third the Sabres calmed down and matched the Devils shot for shot forcing Brodeur to earn it. His positioning was perfect and gave the Sabres nothing to look at. Buffalo's best chance the break the bagel was late in the 3rd when Johan Hecht one timed a great feed from Chris Dury but Brodeur made an unbelievable glove keeping the shut out in tact.

New Jersey expects game 4 to be much tougher. Getting blanked on home ice has to sting and the Sabres will be looking for retribution.
