The arms race is building in the Eastern Conference and Devils management has begun working the phones. Every team around them has been improving for the past month and time is running out to add some extra firepower.
New Jersey's GM confirmed that talks have been ongoing with several different teams. While no names were given, rumour has it that the Devils are looking to acquire a Right Wing. Possible candidates include Trent Hunter, Radek Dvorak and Ales Kotalik.
Some have speculated that the Devils are willing to part with blue chip prospect Lauri Tukonen and rookie Josef Balej in order to acquire this experienced player.
The Devils meanwhile continue to tear up the league. Last week they took down Division rival Pittsburgh twice and shut out the Dallas Stars 3 - 0. Sunday night the Devils were burned by the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets 2 - 1. The loss was the team's first defeat in 9 games.
