The OTHL is just a bucket full of games into the inaugural season and it is obviously to early to say too much, but we will anyways. We are going to take a look at the seasons dissapointments so far.
THE DISSAPOINTMENTS
Tampa Bay Lightning - After a major overhaul in the offseason that saw team cornerstones leave such as Nikolai Khabibulin, Martin St.Louis, Dave Andreychuk, & Brad Richards, the Lightning have been mediocre at best posting a 1-3-0 record thus far and surprisingly find themselves at the bottom of a weak South East division.
Montreal Canadiens - The Canadiens, like the Lightning made a lot of moves in the off-season but so far they have not come to fruition. They have been in most of their games but cannot seem to dig down and go the extra mile to win. Jose Theodore has been very subpar and needs to get on his game.
Colorado Avalanche - For the most part the team is playing well and they are in most of the games they have played. The thing is that they are just not getting the goaltending they need to be successful, David Aebischer needs to be better. Right now Tommy Salo has been their best goalie in his limited action.
Steve Yzerman - Has he lost his touch? Maybe playing on one leg a few years ago has caught up with him? 2 points in 6 games is not up to the normal Stevie Y standard.
Steve McCarthy - We may as well pick on another Steve while we are at it. Here is a guy on the modern "Broad Street Bullies" and he has played 5 games without taking a penalty! Oh lord, what a pansy!
Manny Legace - It is starting to look like a mistake on giving Legace a full time position as a starter. He has been very poor so far for LA. I can hear the LA GM crying for Curtis Joseph to come back already.
Pavol Demitra - No points in 6 games, and is a -5. A LOT of players could do better playing with Ribeiro and Palffy.
Zdeno Chara - The giraffe is -4 thus far and has not quite been the rock the Sens need.
Next week will look at the surprises of the season so far!!!!
